Translating the identity of a city into a graphic form is never a simple task, especially when it comes to a city.
For humans, identity is everything we are; it identifies us as individuals and makes us unique. It is something that is built from the moment we are born and continues to evolve, transform, and adapt throughout our lives.
But a city is not a living being, so how does it build its identity? To answer this question, think of the city as a human body, and what brings this body to life are the people, who represent its vital energy. One could say that the process of building an individual’s identity goes hand in hand with that of the city in which they live.
Therefore, it is a relationship of “give and take” between the citizen and their city. For this reason, designing the visual identity of a city is much more complicated than doing so for a company or an individual, because the identity of a city is made up of the identities of all the people who live and grow among its streets, leaving their history in those streets, buildings, and squares.
01 - Concept
The idea was to design a modular graphic, freely composable and modifiable, using isometric perspective.
