RUVIDO Festival
RUVIDO was born in 2025 from the desire to create a shared space for illustrators and creatives in the Trento area, where networking and exchange could find a concrete stage. As art director and graphic designer of the project, I oversaw and developed the festival's communication and identity both online and offline, building a visual language capable of representing the imperfect, authentic soul of the event.
A saturated, high contrast palette forms the visual identity of the festival, ensuring immediate impact and recognition. At the heart of the communication is a series of illustrated characters embodying the recurring emotional states of anyone who works creatively: creative block, self-doubt, enthusiasm, frustration. A way of turning imperfection from a limitation into a defining stylistic choice.
With a limited budget for offline promotion, the strategy focused on building a strong and recognisable social media presence. The tone is direct, ironic and never institutional. We developed recurring series, interviews, countdowns and behind the scenes content to keep engagement high and grow a community before the event even opened its doors.
To visually translate the idea of imperfection, we played with typography. A clean sans serif for the primary information, paired with a handmade lettering that mimics corrections and second thoughts much like the sketchbooks of illustrators, where mistakes stay on the page and become part of the drawing. This contrast creates a visual rhythm that speaks of controlled spontaneity: structure and chaos coexisting.
The visual system was applied across the board: street posters, market materials, social graphics, badges. Each piece stays coherent while allowing variation much like the idea of an imperfect identity that breathes.
The festival was met with unexpected enthusiasm. Despite the bad weather, people showed up, took part and filled every corner of the space. It was exactly the atmosphere we had hoped for: safe, welcoming, a place to share ideas without judgement from the market tables to the corridors between workshops.
